A Comprehensive Compliance Solution
STAR-GATE DR consists of two principle subsystems:
The STAR-GATE DR Mediation Device interfaces with the network elements and delivers retained data in compliance with data retention directives and warrants.
The STAR-GATE DR Global System Administrator enables operators to assign targets, perform system administration, and secure data from unauthorized access or use.

Single-Point Administration
STAR-GATE DR features single-point administration for specifying targets, warrants, queries, reports, monitoring centers, networks, and user privileges. STAR-GATE Global System Administration (GSA) software provides an intuitive graphical user interface and includes a database for storing query details, reports, and log files. The GSA also provides capabilities for delivery administration, user management and role definitions, integrated queries and reports, plus a full security suite.
Data Security and Privacy
STAR-GATE DR incorporates a wide array of security features to protect communication data from unauthorized access and help ensure timely and secure delivery to the appropriate agencies. These features include audit trails, flexible and detailed user role definition, data query encryption, transfer communication encryption, multi-tier database access control, operating system and platform hardening, and more.
Warrants for Retained Data
STAR-GATE DR is also designed to enable compliance with warrants for communication data to be delivered to law enforcement agencies. Non-electronic requests, such as those received by fax or sealed envelope, require the operator to enter the data query manually via the STAR-GATE GSA in order to trigger the data retrieval process. In the case of electronic requests sent by the law enforcement agency via secure (PGP) email, STAR-GATE DR receives the email, automatically notifies the law enforcement agency that the request has been received, and can notify authorized personnel that the request is pending. The information from the email is stored in the STAR-GATE DR GSA database and populates a query definition window, streamlining the query definition process and expediting data retrieval.
